"Work online" not available - even though I'm offline
Hello:
I've noticed that sometimes when I'm running around our organization on my laptop, my PC will shift to offline mode for files. Generally this is ok - if I need online files, I click the "Work Online" button on the bar above file explorer.
Sometimes "Work Online" does not appear on this bar. However at the bottom my "Offline Status" shows that I am officially offline.
Is there another way to get myself online? It seems to course correct after 5 - 10 minutes or so sometimes (the button appears to go online), but this is slow.
Many thanks

Hi,
Thanks for the post!
What do you mean offline or online status? Do you mean the
offline files?
Would you provide us with a screenshot? You can use
SkyDrive to
upload the picture.
More information is needed for troubleshooting.

Sorry I did not explain fully earlier - yes indeed, I mean offline files.
I will try to get a screenshot when possible - unfortunately it has not happened for the last few days. Such luck!

Hi,
It seems like an intermittent behavior. I suspect it’s a network connection problem, you can update the network card driver and the BIOS to see if it happens
again. Meanwhile, refer to this Troubleshoot network connection problems.

I have this problem, and I have to say that's kind of a thin answer. There are several other posts about this issue, and I suspect it's a general problem with Windows 7/Vista, not an intermittent network problem. Even if it were an intermittent
network problem, once network connectivity is restored, the "Work Online" button should be available, but it is not. I can bring up the same directory in a separate explorer window with no problem, let I the "Work Online" button is not available.
Thanks,
James
